This is an original mug that uses photographs taken by Kazumoto Kazutsugu in various parts of Japan.
This photo shows how bubbles in the water froze due to the winter cold when I visited Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Tochigi Prefecture on my first trip around Japan. North Kanto is very cold in February and this trip was very freezing. In such a way, I don't usually go to the temple, but I visited it because it was famous. When I paid the entrance fee and tried to wash my hands at the chozuya, the water tank was frozen and I couldn't wash my hands.
I have never seen such a sight in western Japan, where I was born and raised, or in Kyushu, where I am based. At the same time, will you meet in a place like this? It's going to be a piece that I took with a surprise to say.
I brought the lens as close to the ice surface as possible, and photographed as if I were infiltrating the ice myself.
I didn't notice it because I was so absorbed in it, but I'm sure people around me looked at me strangely.
In this work, we used clear glass to make the most of the transparency of the ice.
Other works use frosted glass, white glass, and other glass materials that match the photos, so please take a look.
